Email marketing...a love letter

Isn't she beautiful?


My darling keyboard...I can trust her to never change...understand and process my feelings...and always provide a spark.


But this isn't about her.


It's about my mistress who I met through her. In fact, they're good friends.


But, for a reason unbeknownst to me, she doesn't seem to mind my sinful debauchery.


And no, she wasn't made in Utah.


I've thought about it and I can't come to a conclusion.


Why doesn't she feel spiteful towards our relationship?


How come she doesn't want me for herself?


What's stopping her from shutting down on me?


Why does she allow email marketing and myself to continue getting to know each other?


Okay that's enough...I'm cringing...which means you probably are too...so I'll stop this ridiculousness (Do I have to cite Rob Dyrdek for that?)


I wrote this on quora for someone who asked about needing an email list to run a business.


I'm sure you can guess the passionate words I had for my lady of the night.

Great marketing tool. Affordable, with loads of potential ROI.


Also, you can speak to your customers/leads on a very personal level. You’re writing them a letter, although, in electronic form. But, if you can write good emails that provide value to your list…you’ll be establishing three important qualities that encourage people to buy from you:


1) They’ll get to know you…


2) They’ll start to like you…


3) They’ll begin to trust you….


…and if your product or service is any good (which it should be) you’ll be providing a solution to the persons problems…idk about you, but when a product or service solves a problem of mine, I very rarely deviate from it. I become a returning champ- uh customer.


It’s also a relatively cheap asset. Email service plans aren’t super expensive, depending on the size of your list and how many emails you send out, and email has massive potential for sales…

Well, email ain’t goin’ nowhere. Half the worlds population (4.3 billion) is expected to be an active email user by 2023…for every $1 you spend on email marketing, you can expect an average return of $42 (take that stock market)…82%, the average ‘welcome email’ open rate (average email open rate stands at 21%), almost gurantees you at least one opportunity to establish a connection with your customer/lead….(Source below)

Anyways…what’s one of the most important assets in commerce today?

That’s right…dadda…daddy… sorry data.


If you could potentially get inside a consumers head and think what they think…hear their problems….see their solutions…and feel their objections….you’d be the richest man in the world…well…as long as Tesla stock doesn’t keep mooning. But, nonetheless, you’d be one successful bih-ness man.


So, why am I rambling about getting inside peoples heads?

Because email gives you this super power…to an extent…you’re not gonna be like professor X or anything but…


Email provides the business owner, you, with another outlet to communicate with customers/leads. You have a direct line of communication with the men and women who you serve. Email grants you the ability to conveniently reach out, ask questions, and compile the data….and according to email marketing legend Ian Stanley


“If there’s only one lever that can legitimately double your sales or conversions it’s this….get to know your customer better than they know themselves.” (Confessions of a Persuasion Hitman by Ian Stanley).


And guess what?


Having an email list can help you do this.
